When you think of Scotland what do you think? Some of you may not know what to think. When I think of Scotland I think of beautiful highlands, breathraking scenery and an immense culture. Here are some places you have to visit if you ever come to Scotland.

Edinburgh.

Edinburgh is Scotland's compact, hilly capital. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings.

Loch Ness

Loch Ness (meaning lake ness) is in the Scottish highlands in Inverness. The loch is 23 miles long and about a mile wide holding more fresh water than all the lochs and lakes in England and Wales combined.

Northern Lights

This one isn't so much a place to visit as it is a thing to do/see. The Northern Lights have amazed mankind for milenea and Scotland is one of the few countries that can see the Northern Lights.

Fort William to Mallaig - take the Jacobite Steam Train

This is also not a place to visit as it is a thing to do. Take this train journey that starts at the foot of Ben Nevis (highest mountain in the British Isles) in Fort William. Then you will cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct (featured in the iconic Harry Potter films) and pass the silver sands of Morar before arriving in the fishing port of Mallaig.
