Missing my boat trip at night before lockdown and curfew in Bangkok.

in #travel4 years ago

The lockdown and curfew in Bangkok are now in the third month. The lockdown has become more relaxed about a week ago; restaurants and hairdressers have been allowed to operate but all schools are under lockdown. All international airports and border crossing remain shut, with exception for officials airlift of Thai nationals from overseas. The curfew means that long distance train and coach services are still unavailable. So, going out in the evening can be quite stressful as we have to rush back before the curfew hour at 11pm. Bars and nightclubs remains close which means that lots of people cannot get back to work.

I missed my occasional boat trip along the Chao Phraya River at night. This night time boat trip had a very different atmosphere from daytime as the river and sky became dark giving the mysterious feeling while the boat went through thick sheet of water. The sound of the waves hitting the boat and the strong breezes at night added more excitement to my senses.

My purpose of traveling by boat at night was to enjoy the display of lighting at the biggest shopping complex along the river called IconSiam. Although several hotels along the river were also nicely decorated with lighting, the IconSiam seemed to stand out as having the most dramatic light display. I liked to see the shimmering reflection on the water with those of touring boats full of tourists enjoying their dinner on the river cruise.

Life has not been the same as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Everyone has been affected while the economic and social consequences would be rather long lasting. But I know the nature of people here: they are fighters who will get up and do their best to improve their lots after this long battle with the pandemic. I just wish the lockdown could be totally ended now so that the rest of those unemployed people could get back to work.

Taking boat trip always gives me more energy and helps to cleanse my mind of all fuzzy or negative frequencies. Being close to massive flowing water gives a sense of awe and respect. Even though the sky was dark but there were beautiful lighting and reflections to tell me that better things are potentially close by, we just had to give our hopes and dreams more positive energy.

Wishing you all a very productive week.

Cheers.

That boat trip along the Chao Phraya River looks so fun @kaminchan.
We don't have anything like that in South Korea.
Everyone has been affected during the economic crisis and social restraints of the coronavirus. Many jobs lost. I sure hope there won't be a stock market crash soon (even though things are trying to look good in the stock market, it is a very crucial and dangerous point in our economic situation.) so worried.

Yes. The sufferings by ordinary people here have been suppressed by authority and the mainstream media. People are badly hurt by fear and panic mode of decision making by officials and technocrats. They are making little people suffer for their own safety! Those technocrats are working with the elite in this bigger agenda, this pandemic has been planned twenty years ago towards social re-engineering: New World Order and Agenda21, now 2030 which is their goal.

The stock market will continue to go higher! (That’s in their play book which someone had leaked several years ago!)
But it will pop at the right time for control and manipulation purposes, to aim for maximum chaos.

You should start making contingency plans. There are the wild cards such as China factor which has been suddenly rewritten. More uncertainty, more sufferings for us little people.

I think there will be unrest in many countries by the end of this year! Hunger, famine, bankruptcy and the collapse of fiat currency will make people protest and cause riot! The Hong Kong card is also very disturbing.

Take care.
