A Taste of Tanzania - Part 2: Ngorongoro crater

The Ngorongoro conservation area is still the most beaufiful place i've ever visited. The main part of the conservation area is the Ngorongoro crater which was formed after the collapse of a massive volcano. The crater is full of life, and we were lucky enough to see The Big Five (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard) as well as tons of other animals in the area.

It's hard to comprehend the vastness of that area from a picture. At the time I couldn't comprehend it myself even though I saw it with my own eyes. After getting down there, I couldn't believe that just moments ago I was staring at an area with tens of thousands of animals in it. The crater is 610 metres (2000 feet) deep and covers 250 square kilometres (100 square miles).

Can't have a safari post with no animals in it.

After a surprisingly long drive on a winding road we made it to the bottom of the crater. Cameras at the ready, the most anticipated part of the trip had finally begun.
