Remarkable Places To Visit When In Camotes Island

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemit friends!

Good day and good evening to all corners of the world.

I am so stoked for our upcoming vacation in the coming days. So, I am all 'reminiscing' and 'remembering' our past travel destinations. You guys can visit these places that I am going to share to you if you haven't gone to these ones. I am talking about Camotes Islands.

Camotes is a group of islands situated in the east part of Cebu. Apart from beautiful white sand beaches, there are other interesting places that you can explore. To get there, you have to ride a boat from the Danao port. Danao is located north of Cebu. An hour to less than two is an approximate time travel to reach the Camotes Islands.

I have been to Camotes Islands for a couple of times or so because I have a former colleague whose bloodline hails from Camotes. She invited us to their place and acted as our tourist guide when we went to meet the several wonders of Camotes Island.

Here is a rundown of the magnificent tourist destinations that we set foot on the island. I would assure you that you will certainly enjoy the gorgeous views and the activities that you could undertake.

BUHO ROCK

This is an extraordinary resort. Its rock formation is a remarkable sight to view, it's kind of shaped like a ship. In going to the cottages, you will pass by a good number of steps downward, and when you climb back up to the exit, it's quite tiring. There are roughly 56 steps up, going to the Buho Garden.
Some of my friends who were good at swimming tried jumping over a cliff at the venue. If you're brave enough to face the heights, there are about two good spots at the cliff that's intended for you, if you wanted to try to jump off to the ocean. You can take pictures to your hearts' content.

TULANG DIOT ISLAND

I overheard from our boatman that they got the name of the island from the word "diotay" which is a Cebuano term for "small". It is an islet of Tulang Dako which in opposite means big. From mainland San Francisco, we rode a small boat going to this island. What met our sight was a glorious white sand beach and crystal blue water. The islet was indeed a breathtaking site. You'll never regret stepping onto this island. (NOTE: I actually made a previous post about this island before.)

Even the sunset was a mesmerizing view. My admiration for this islet is never ending. I hope I could get back to this place. I do hope you also get the chance to experience such rustic vibes that this place imparts.

TIMUBO CAVE

Explore the cave and do swimming underground. There is an entrance fee of 15.00 (But, since I haven't gone there for quite a while, I don't know if the rates have changed). It's a bit slippery and dark inside so you have to be careful, although it's safe going down because they provided stairs with railings installed that lead you to the underground water.

LAKE DANAO PARK

If you are a nature lover, this place is for you. There is an entrance fee of 10 to 15 pesos. There are plenty of activities you can do in this park. You can indulge in sakanaw cruise(please see image below), for an hour and do a little exploring and picture taking on an islet where the motorboat would take you. This has a different fee, by the way.

There are also swimming pools available if you'd like to chill there, and avail of their menu if you're in to chow. You can go boating and paddle around, as well.

BAYWALK

The Baywalk is located in San Francisco, Camotes. It's like a plaza. You would enjoy hanging out and relaxing here. There are monkey bars on the area where kids and adults alike can play. There are stalls and stores as well where you can buy food or snacks.

BEACHES AND RESORT

There are a lot of white sand beaches and resorts that the Camotes Islands can offer. Inasmuchas I would like to experience all of these, I just couldn't for lack of time and funds it demanda. So, here are just a few of the beaches and resorts that I and my friends have conquered.

Take pleasure while sight seeing at Mangodlong Beach Resort. They offer a magnificent view of the white sand beach, and they have an infinity swimming pool where you can take a splash.

Another is the Santiago Bay. You'll certainly enjoy strolling the vast shore of the beach. There are food stores in the area where you can buy from when you get famished from walking or swimming.

The beachfront that I found as an excellent venue for a nightcap and night swimming was the one at San Francisco where we had our accommodation nearby. This is the reason why we kept coming back to this area. No matter how many gorgeous resorts there are in Camotes Island, we always agree to settle in this area. The pristine sea on our watch is so inviting so you'd have a hard time resisting, even during the daytime.

I am sure you guys can also discover more views once you get to visit this island. You can use this post as guide 'though. So, from all of us (from my friends included), we wish you all happiness on your travel destinations. Keep safe as well. Thanks for stopping by. :)
