Islands in the Sun....

During my last winter break in December 2017, my parents took me to Hong Kong and Macau. We even took a cruise on a luxury liner. First, we flew to Delhi, and from there we boarded an Air India flight to Hong Kong. After four to five hours, we landed at Hong Kong, from where we boarded a Turbojet Ferry to Macau. In just one hour, we were in Macau. We then caught a free shuttle bus to our hotel.

Our hotel, The Venetian, is a five-star deluxe hotel, comprising around 3,000 suites. We were at the 25th floor. The hotel is designed like the city of Venice. It has a large shopping complex and many food courts with a large artificial sky and an artificial stream flowing through. The hotel also has four swimming pools and one jacuzzi, and all of them were filled with warm water as it was winter time.

The next morning, we went sightseeing with a tour guide, who took us to another hotel called the Galaxy Hotel to see its famous artificial hanging diamond, which appears in a wonderful show every half an hour. This hotel, too, has many shops and restaurants.

Macau is famous for its casinos. The next day, we roamed around the huge shopping complex in our hotel. At around 3 p.m., we boarded a Turbojet Ferry from Macau to Hong Kong.

In Hong Kong, Miss Shan, our local tour guide, took us to our hotel. Hong Kong consists of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula, Lantau and many other islands. Next morning, we went to Disneyland. Disneyland has many shows and rides. It includes the Toy Story Land, Mystic Point, Grizzly Gulch, Adventure Land, Main street U.S.A, Fantasyland and Tomorrow Land. At night, we saw the ‘Disney Night Parade’ and a wonderful fireworks show. Next morning, we went to the Ocean Park, a theme park with animals. It also has many dangerous rides and shows. It includes the Whiskers Harbour, Amazing Asian Animals, Aqua City, Polar Adventure, Rainforest, Thrill Mountain, Adventure Land and Marine World. That evening, we saw the light and sound show at the Aqua City Lagoon Water.

The next day, we took a Big Bus Tour; these are hop-on-hop-off buses. We completed all the three routes – Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula Tour, Aberden and Stanley Tour. Next morning, we roamed around the Tsim Tsa Tsui, the central place at Kowloon. At 4.45 p.m., our local guide took us to the Ocean Terminal, from where we boarded the Superstar Virgo, which is a very large cruise ship and has 12 decks. We were on Deck Nine. This ship has four jacuzzis and one swimming pool. It has a theatre hall, the Lido, where they present many shows. It also has a gaming zone, where I played many games.

That night, we enjoyed at the wonderful New Year’s party with gifts, dance and music. Next morning, we had fun at the swimming pool and the jacuzzis. At night, we went to the Lido theatre to watch a show. The show was wonderful and all the dancers were Brazilian. Next morning, our ship docked at the Ocean Terminal. From there, we went to the airport and boarded our flight back to Delhi. We stayed overnight at Delhi and returned to Guwahati the next day.
