Sabang Trip Ep. 8 - Wandering The Sabang Fair Monument

We rode along the Paradiso beach and it served us a really good morning vibes. We planed to go to kota bawah but we decided to stay and wandering around Sabang Fair Monument.

This park is suitable for hanging out with family. It has playground and plenty of gazebo nearby the shore. This park is where people enjoying a combination of town park and beach. Nice. :)

Cannons, there are plenty of them which came from the Japanese army legacy.

Lone road, lone beach. It feels like we're on a private island or maybe spooky one??. No, this is early morning so people get time to move from bed, well I guess. :D

Sabang and the Japanese Fortress

Sabang is an exotic island which has a lot of history heritage during the Japan colonialism. No wonder why there are many historical objects that can be found here.

Japanese bunker during war. There are a lot of them that spread around the coast.

On March 12 1942, 00:00 with the code name "Operation T" a battalion of army Kobayashi division Japanese empire landed in Sabng. Boarded ships, Tatsumiya, Maru, Kinugawa Maru, and Heito Maru. Escorted by booby trap ship Harsutaka Nagoya Maru. Destroyer ship no and one division of 44th mine sweeper ship division japanese navy.
Since July 14, 1942, Sabang was been the 9th Force Headquarters of ist expedisionary Japanese navy. Reinforced by unit 9th coast guard 9th unit of transportation, 11th submarines division of 91th submarines chaser, division of 44th sweeper mines and base of installer Hatsutaka ship mine destroyer ship of Eiko Maru, Murakumo and Yugiri.
