StunningSydney: Madame Tussauds (WAX MUSEUM) 🎨🏛

in #travel7 years ago (edited)
Bonjour, Steemians! I’m excitedly wanted to share my experience in Madame Tussauds Museum. This is different from those blogs I’ve been posting recently. From experiences in the Concrete Jungle, Nature’s wonders but now, let’s explore about the works of the magnificent artist, Madame Tussauds.

(Such a beauty, Taylor Swift! 😘 😘 😘)
There are currently 24 Madame Tussauds worldwide, including seven in the USA, and museums in Beijing, Tokyo and Sydney, Australia. Madame Tussauds Sydney opened in April 2012 and was the thirteenth Madame Tussauds to open in the world. The attraction is the only one of its kind in Australia. Source

Wait! Who is Madame Tussaud?
Marie Tussaud was born as Marie Grosholtz in 1761 in Strasbourg, France. Her mother worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Philippe Curtius in Bern, Switzerland, who was a physician skilled in wax modelling. Curtius taught Tussaud the art of wax modelling.* Source
I didn’t know about the artist when we first went to the museum. What I just knew was it’s a museum of wax about important people in the history, Australian actors/actresses, and Hollywood celebrities.

Here is a map of the museum

Let’s start in HISTORY zone.

Did you know that the figure making process for Madame Tussauds is about four months long and each figure costs about $300,000 to produce start to finish.

Short Trivia: Did you know that Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch ever in Britain? 👑

Trivia: More than 250 precise measurements and 180 photographs are taken of a subject to accurately create the figure. If the subject is unavailable for these measurements, the studio artists study hundreds of photographs and watch hours of video to create the figure.

Did you know that Audrey Hepburn isn't her real name. She was born Audrey Kathleen Ruston and didn't start calling herself Audrey Hepburn until 1948. And guess what? She could speak 5 different languages which are English, Spanish, French, Dutch, and Italian. (A real definition of Beauty and Brain, Steemians! :O)*

Merci Everyone! Hope you liked and enjoyed my post! And I’m sorry for my tired face. We obviously had fun and can’t wait to explore more in Sydney. There was a lot of wax figures in the museum but we couldn’t capture it all, would take a whole day to do it. HAVE YOU BEEN HERE BEFORE? HOW WAS IT? LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!

That was really informative! When i was in Singapore, due to a very hectic sked, I wasn't able to visit the Mme Tussaud. Hopefully, when I get back. Or maybe, I can visit Sydney because I have a friend already living in Sydney. Bucket list.

Oh, that's fine. You can still visit next time. It's actually a must-visit-attraction! I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it.
