"The Island Born Of Fire" Part1: A Must In Philippines!

In continuation with my previous post to the sevendaybwchallenge and photography contest entry, in this travel blog I'm gonna show you why Camiguin Island Province is one of my favorite travel destination in the Philippines.

"WHITE ISLAND"
Locally known as Medano Islet or Medan Island, lies just 1.4 km, about 10 minutes off the coast of Mambajao, the capital and the largest municipality of Camiguin. A powdery white sandbar that changes it's shape depending on the tides and the province’s most popular tourist attraction.

How to get there: Camiguin has its own airport. If you’re coming from Manila, you can connect in Cebu because there are no direct flights. Alternatively, you may fly to Cagayan de Oro. Take the shuttle to Agora Terminal then the bus bound for Balingoan Pier. Board a ferry to Benoni Wharf in Camiguin, then a multicab or a tricycle to the jumpoff point in Brgy. Yumbing. From here, You'll take a boat to the island for 10 minutes. Sounds like a long journey huh! but it's totally worth the trip! There's also travel agencies like Camiguin Travel & Tour, Camiguin Packages and beach resorts that offer different tour packages that will suit your budget. Checkout more in Trip advisor website!

We booked a boat through the beach reosrt
where we stayed. We woke up very early in the morning (5:30 am) on our island hopping day. The sun is starting to show up as we arrived on the island. It was a very spectacular scenery with dramatic clouds (as you can see on the pictures). After a while, the darkness was gone and we can view the whole island already!

no houses, no huts, no trees, totally naked! but umbrellas are available for rent.
