California Dreaming Series all aboard the Queen Mary, one of the most majestic boats of all time
The Queen Mary has a story rich with history and a grandeur that will never be replaced. Built in Scotland during the 1930 , the Queen Mary stood tall in a class all her own. However, after a great time of ocean travel, World War II started and the Queen Mary's was retrofitted into a troopship and painted a camouflaged grey color which made her known as the Grey Ghost. She was able to carry as many as 16,000 troops up to 30 knots.
Eventually, however, the Queen Mary made her final voyage to Long Beach, California in 1967 and has called Southern California her home ever since.
