RE: Jeepney Tour Adventure In The Philippines

in #travel7 years ago

Oh, hey, thanks for doing your part in promoting the Philippines :D Personally, I hate the jeepneys. The drivers (and most passengers) are undisciplined. Their vehicles are sadly ill-maintained, with most not even possessing functional brake lights, which is something that they need since they stop whenever they want wherever they want. As you said, hop on hop off. It's great for novelty purposes, but when you deal with it everyday, it gets annoying really quickly. Since they have stainless vehicles, they don't really care if they bump other cars. Their jeepneys don't get scratched so to hell with the other vehicles. They stop in the middle of the freaking road without warning.

Now, if these travesties were owned by the government, perhaps I would have a different opinion. If only disciplined drivers were hired and are given a steady salary, then they wouldn't need to chase down fares. There would be accountability for their actions, and the vehicles would be well-maintained. A definite plus if all jeepneys would be upgraded to e-jeepneys (the electric, eco-friendly variant).

Sorry to put a damper on your very enthusiastic post. I just wanted to provide some insights from a local. Peace! Congrats on the success of the post. I voted for this BTW :D
