Color Challenge Monday Red: The Pikes Peak Cog Railway

Back in March of 2015 @melodyrussell and myself and our two girls went to Colorado Springs Co. and got to take The Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak!!

So here are a few pictures of cog train that took us to the top!!

The round trip takes all of 3 hours and 10 minutes!! There are some very impressive views along the way up and at one point you can see Pikes Peak Road, but that's a post for another time!

You are only allowed to stay at the summit for 30-40 minutes as some people start to feel the effects of high altitude sickeness (slight nausea, headache) after about 30 minutes! Our oldest daughter actually did get a headache but it soon went away as we started back down the mountain!

This is definitely a trip i would suggest you take if you are ever in the area!! It's something we will never forget!!!!
