It's a tropical island and has gorgeous tropical forests. The Samana Peninsula where I currently am is an arm that extends off the east coast of the island and catches all the rainstorms that roll in from the Atlantic Ocean. It rains here almost daily for short periods of time, and yes, everything is very green. Green and blue, with touches of tan (sand). IMHO, this is just the most gorgeous place on the planet.
