Kalanggaman Island

An Island shaped like a flying bird when viewed from above. Kalanggaman Island is located at the middle of Cebu and Leyte Islands in in the Visayas Region (Central Philippines). It belongs to the town of Palompon, Leyte.

With its captivating crystal clear waters and powdery white sand shorelines, tourists from all over the Philippines, even from different parts of the world flock to the Island of Kalanggaman. With an area of only five hectares, you can basically walk the whole island in less than an hour.

There are two sandbars, the east and the west.

Lots of activities can be done while in the island.

That's Great! So I do I get there?

From Cebu City, you can get a boat ride to Palompon, Leyte.
You can even take a plane from Manila. From Palompon (jump off point), small boats (good for 20 people) are rented to get to the island.

Rates are somewhat different. There are rates for foreign tourist, local tourist and the locals. You may visit the island for a day or even multiple days!

If you are into safety, there is a 24/7 police assistance in the island.

Take note:

• NO electricity in Kalanggaman Island.
• NO drinkable water in the island (only seawater).
• Ask your pumpboat operators for fresh water.
• Toilets are available around the Island.
• There are grills in the island (you may bring your own charcoals).
• No Littering. You are given 2 garbage bags for biodegradable & non-biodegradable. Practice a Leave No Trace Principle.
