Thailand - "The Land of Smiles"

One of my favorite places to travel to is Thailand. Although the long time it takes to fly from California to Thailand is anywhere between 18 to 22 hours (depending on the airline and stops), it’s well worth all the jet lag and the troubles of sitting on the plane. Once the plane lands, you know you have arrived in Bangkok by the immediate smell of durians in the tropical air.

Scent of durian is strong and it's an acquired taste.

The night markets or bazaars in Bangkok is lively with many stalls of food and things to buy.

And there are so many foods to enjoy!!!

Thailand is also a land of temples....there are temples everywhere!!

.....also many places with monkeys.

After the busy bustle of Bangkok, it’s easy to get away for some quiet relaxing time at the beaches about 2 hours away.

And my son has my favorite beverage on the beach...
