My trip To Attock Fort in Pakistan: The fort is a memorial of Great Mughal Empire

To visit the fort of attock, i stayed in Rawalpindi city, Rawalpindi is situated at a drive of 2 hours from Attock City where this fort is located, The hotel in which i stayed was Royal Place, i was very pleased by the services of the hotel

The hotel is named after the River Indus, which is the biggest river of Pakistan

The room was Very comfortable, with almost every accessory

The meal was majestic, you want Asian, European, american or Chines food, what ever you like to eat was served

To view the fort i reached Attock Khurd in the morning by car, Attock fort was built at Attock Khurd during the reign of Akbar the Great from 1581 to 1583 under the supervision of Khawaja Shamsuddin Khawafi to protect the passage of the Indus.

Attock (Attock Khurd) is a fort and small town in the Punjab, on the left or east bank of the Indus, 942 miles from the sea, and close below the place where it receives the water of the Kabul River

In the picture you can see the great KABUL river of Afghanistan is meeting the Indus river of Pakistan

Here in indus river people enjoy themselves on boats

So did i enjoyed the beautiful scenes of the river on one of the boat that i hired for 2 dollars

Attock Fort featured a prominent role in Afghan-Sikh Wars during the Battle of Attock. The Battle of Attock took place on 28 April 1758 between Maratha Empire and the Durrani Empire. The Marathas under Raghunathrao (Raghoba), Sardar Sabaji Shinde along with The Great Warrior Mahadji Shinde, his brother Tukaji Shinde, Bapuji Sikkanavees, Malojirao Shinde, Bayaji Baba Shinde, Troops of Holkar Army and Vitthal Shivdev were victorious in the battle and Attock was captured

It became the northern boundary of the Maratha Empire, Today it is sandwiched between KPK Province on one side and the River Indus, Punjab Province on the other

The bridge is on the Indus river, the bridge is combining the KPK Province of Pakistan with Punjab province

The fortress was erected by the Emperor Akbar, in 1581 to command the passage; but, though strongly built of stone on the high and steep bank of the river, it could offer no effectual resistance to a regular attack, being commanded by the neighbouring heights. Its form is that of a parallelogram: it is 800 yards long and 400 wide.

How to reach?

By Train

Attock is connected with Hassanabdal, Burhan, Rawalpindi and Jand by Local and national trains. The city station has two platforms. It takes 30 minutes from Hassanabdal and 1.5 hour from Jand and almost 1 hour from Rawalpindi where i stayed to reach the city of attock.

By Road

The Attock city is connected with surrounding cities by highway connections from six major directions. So people can reach Attock city by bus or car. Attock Bus Stop is the main bus station for all buses and vans in Attock, and is located to the east of the city. Major Pakistan cities like Rawalpindi are connected to Attock by vans.

In the end i found out that there was love every where, there was hospitality and there was help where ever you need it, i extremely enjoyed my trip to Attock fort, now i am planning to see the northern areas of Pakistan, i have listened that these areas are the living heaven on earth, i will soon bring you those scenes
