I lived in Sandpoint for about a year. My next-door neighbor was a chronic drunk and would have arguments (usually with real people) outside my apartment door at 2 AM.

I'm not sure I would want to live in that town again, but they have a nice library, and more grocery store options now. The highway 95 bypass has made driving a lot safer and easier now. It's a bike-friendly area. If you ski, Schweitzer is a good place to be in winter. The lake is good for fishing.
