Alanya Castle - Antalya
Alanya Castle; Byzantine period, the busiest port of the Mediterranean. Kalonoros in 1221; Kyr Vart, who is the owner of the castle, handed over the Sultan of Anatolia Seljuk I to Aladdin Keykubat.
1221 yılında Kalonoros; kalenin sahibi Kyr Vart tarafından Anadolu Selçuklu Sultanı I.Alaaddin Keykubat’a teslim edilir. Alanya Kalesi; Bizans döneminde Akdeniz’in en işlek limanıymış.
There are 83 towers in total. In the middle ages, about 1200 cisterns were built to provide water needed for the city.
Toplamda 83 kule vardır. Ortaçağda surların içinde bulunan kentin su gereksinimini sağlamak üzere 1200 kadar sarnıç yapılmıştır.
Alanya was finally conquered by Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent.
