Guide To the Temples and Pagodas of Vietnam: #7 Linh Phuoc PagodasteemCreated with Sketch.

The wonderful Linh Phuoc Pagoda is one of the more unusual looking Buddhist temples in Vietnam. Its design draws little from traditionally built temples in the country, it has though become a firm favourite amongst the locals.

Dalat is a superb small town in the Central Vietnamese Highlands. The air here is cooler due to the altitude and this of course makes sightseeing a whole lot easier. Many of the attractions of Dalat are in the city. If you want to get out to see other attractions around the city, taxis are cheap enough though some of them are but a shortish walk away. About three miles to the east of Dalat City is the township of Trai Mat, and just off the main high street here, you will find the the Linh Phuoc Pagoda.

In front of the pagoda there is a statue of a monk, standing beneath a double tiered tiny pagoda, this is in the square that is directly in front of a temple. Across the courtyard from here is the Linh Phuoc Pagoda. It is incredibly beautiful and has seven tiers, The roofs are of the tradition Chinese/Eastern design with corner eaves sweeping up and out from the main part of the roof. At every level there is a walkway to carry pedestrians round.

This temple is incredibly colourful, all surfaces are covered with glass or ceramics in a myriad of different colours. As the years have past more has been added. It is a great addition to a rather plain looking town, Trai Mat, and has certainly driven some much needed tourism into this small town.

The Linh Phuoc Pagoda is pretty unique and it’s close proximity to the city of Dalat, makes it a definite place too stop by and take in.
