American Road Trip

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

The idea of a road trip it's about as American as it gets.
Finding the “best” U.S. driving route is a bit of a brainteaser.

Tracy Staedter at Discovery News and Randy Olson—Michigan State University doctoral student took it upon themselves to to figure out for us ideal of the United States road trip.
It had to hit all of the 48 continental states, every stop had to be a National Natural Landmark, a National Historic Site, a National Park, or a National Monument, and of course, had to be confined to car travel.
The journey starts at the Grand Canyon, but you could theoretically begin anywhere as long as you drive in sequence after that. It would take 10 days of driving straight through, but realistically is a three to four month trip.
The list has 50 stops but it only hits the 48 continental states.

This is literally the life my dude lives! I am so envious of those who get to travel. Hopefully I get to do something like this someday before "they" make it illegal. Thanks for sharing. I will share it with my dude to see if that is a route he wants to take in the future. Much love!

I've been dreaming about it for the last 20 years and I still haven't done it.
Hopefully i'll do it in 2019.
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated!
