Earth tourism; my bucket list for 5 destinations this summer 2017.steemCreated with Sketch.

Tourism: for me it is one of the supreme experiences of life. To visit places, to penetrate their inner ongoing, to mix with their people, with their way of speaking, to think, their customs, to walk their streets, to taste their food, to feel their smells. I also think that one thing is to visit and another to know a place. To know you must live in it. Share the good and the bad, enjoy the noble that offers you and experience their hardships. One formula that I always try to apply is to do tourism on foot. Walk, walk, walk … do a lot of walking.

Here, five places I have pending for getting to know. Enjoy.

Penang (Malaysia)

A great country celebrating a historic milestone is Malaysia, which turns 60 in 2017. And what is the best way to celebrate a birthday? With good food, of course. The Malaysian island of Penang is probably one of the best Asian destinations, with a mix of traditional Malaysian food, Chinese and Indian dishes. All these delights can be found in stalls and stalls in George Town homes.

Street food ... and people from all over ... India, Indonesia, China .... to do :-)

If you combine that with the collection of historic buildings of various styles, ranging from English colonial mansions to classic Chinese houses and Islamic mosques, you will live a great experience.

Aarhus (Denmark)

Copenhagen and Stockholm have always been at the top of the list of food and fashion fanatics, but Denmark's second most important city, Aarhus, is an unknown treasure in front of its elegant Scandinavian cousins. Something that could soon change.

Aarhus is the European Capital of Culture in 2017 and has big plans for this year. ... to do :-)

From its renovated port area to its cobbled streets of the fourteenth century, Aarhus has reinvented itself as the capital of the mini-break of northern Europe. Food, culture and art are part of the attractions of the Capital of Culture.
Its calendar of great activities not to miss this year includes 13 full moon nights and about 350 cultural events. All this in a city where you can get anywhere by bike.

Kigali, Rwanda

The 21st century has been that of the renaissance for Rwanda. From being the scene of one of the most devastating genocides in the world, in 1994, to become one of the safest destinations in the region, Rwanda is the phoenix of the African continent.

Today, Kigali is a modern capital and very well connected, with a gastronomic culture that counts among the best of East Africa. By day visitors can take a walk to meet the gorillas and at night enjoy the trendy cafes in Kigali.

On board for the gorilla tours ... to do :-)

Black rhinos were last seen in Akagera National Park in 2007, but their reintroduction in 2016 seeks to give those species their past glory. This initiative is a successor to that of 2015 in which seven lions were successfully reintroduced into the park, bringing that species back to Rwanda after nearly 20 years.

A little south of the equator, the altitude of Rwanda provides a pleasant tropical climate in the mountainous areas, although with much rain. Avoid the rainy season from March to May.

Colombia

With the expected visit of Pope Francisco to Colombia this year, a peace agreement has brought more prosperity and many visitors to this South American country.

From the good coffee that is taken in Bogota, to the sophisticated architecture of Medellín and the defensive fortifications of Cartagena, dating from the sixteenth century, we are not mistaken if we say that Colombia is here.

Some of the finest coffee beans in the world grow here, and coffee lovers can delight in various hacienda tours where they learn everything about growing grain and preparing the best coffee.

But do not leave the big cities for a good cup of coffee. In Bogotá there are plenty of baristas who can compete with the most experienced in Paris or Rome. And the grains grow in Colombia.

Public architecture shines in Medellín, with a renaissance of design and infrastructure produced by buildings such as Parque Biblioteca España, by the architect Giancarlo Mazzanti, the most famous of half a dozen public libraries that have changed the face of the city. A metrocable system connected to the city's metro transports the inhabitants of the area and visitors.

Cartagena, with the largest fortifications in South America, included in the UNESCO World Heritage list, you can go to one of the most popular national parks in the country, Islas Corales de Rosario Natural Park and San Bernardo, where you can dive and enjoy the best of marine life.

Chengdu (China)

Stroke a panda bear and enjoy Sichuan food. Anything else to say? Chengdu has long been one of the most popular cities in China thanks to these two attractions. The fact that it was named a gastronomic city of UNESCO a few years ago, has also contributed to creating that fame.

Endless sightseeing when walking ... to do :-) ...

In recent years, this city has increased its appeal by adding several first-rate hotel chains as well as innovative restaurants.
Chengdu, China, is home to over 80% of the world's giant pandas so to visit it is best to go to the giant pandas reserve in Chengdu, open for educational tours.

To avoid the rainy summer season but enjoy warm temperatures, the best time of year to visit this city is from March to June or from September to November.

Those are some amazing destinations that I too would like to visit. Other destinations on my bucket list are Egypt for the pyramids. Nepal for mount Everest. China for the great wall and several locations in Italy too. Thank you for sharing

With the family we mostly, unless absolutely mandated, try to do everything as the people of the country; get the bus, eat in local restaurants, visit place where they go and so on ... txs for the note ... cheers.

Denmark seems to me a good place for tourism, it looks amazing.

Some lovely destinations. I like the variety you seem to be aiming for :) Following
