Cebuana Travels Solo #1: Signature Inn Hostel, Hanoi

WHERE TO STAY IN HANOI?

Arriving in Noi Bai International Airport last March 18, 2018, I panicked when I woke up from my sleep. My pickup vehicle was scheduled at 12.40am. My time said it was 1:20am. Seriously? Was our flight delayed? Alas, the pilot announced the time was an hour behind from Philippine time. A big sigh of relief from me there. I forgot all about the time difference.

Booked my pick up vehicle at klook.com. The driver was there waiting for me. Sad thing was, he didnt speak english so it was a silent trip going to my hostel.

So for my first two nights in Hanoi, Vietnam, I stayed at SIGNATURE INN HOSTEL.

I booked my stay here at hostelworld.com and I paid $10.10 or Php523.00 for 2 nights. I suggest booking in advance especially when arriving at your destinations very late.

I was very pleased with my stay here. The ambiance was very cool. The lobby was very welcoming and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They speak good english too. Look for Chung or Liu if you planned staying here.

They served free breakfast from 6.30am to 8.00am and free beer from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

The toilets and shower rooms were clean. Only thing was the toilet at my room was so small. My knees would hit the door. Their staff clean the rooms everyday and they change the sheets.

The beds were definitely good although they dont have pillows, just a comforter to go with it. There is an outlet, lamp, curtain and mini fan per bed although every room has an airconditioning unit. You are also given a locker just make sure to bring your own padlock although they sell one too. They give out towels but you have to make sure it wont be stolen by other people. When I checked-in, a couple complained at the desk that their towels were stolen and they want another towel for free. They were saying it was not their fault but when you are staying in hostels like this one, it is your responsibility to take care of what was rented out to you.

The hostel offers different kind of tours however I recommend just taking a map and going to the tourist spots on your own on foot because these places are just close to each other. And it is cheap just doing it on your own really. I was offered a $20 dollar tour on a bike which I took because I was informed that we were going to vist 6 places in a day. However we were only able to visit 4 tourist spots for that day. But it was fine because atleast I get to experience what it was like riding a motorbike in Hanoi. It was crazy.

On the 6th floor is the hangout area. There is a pool, a tv or a quiet place to work on.

And lastly, meet Ben. The guardian at the inn. Too cute though to scare anyone off.
