The Church of St. George in Kurbinovo (1191)
Recently I was visiting one of the most important monasteries in the South East Europe and one of my favourites.
St.George church (Sveti Gjorgji) is located near the village of Kurbinovo, on the slopes of Lake Prespa, Republic of Macedonia .
The small by dimensions and charming church of St. George, dates from 1191. The fresco-painting is from the period of its foundation and represents a true masterpiece of Byzantine painting ( commencing April 1191).
