Paris is the capital of France. Located on the river Seine, in northern France, in the heart of the Île-de-France region. The city of Paris at its administrative boundaries (unchanged since 1860) has a population of 2,167,994 inhabitants (January 2006). The Paris Unité urbaine (or urban area) extends beyond the administrative city limits and has an estimated population of 9.93 million (in 2005). Aire urbaine Paris (or metropolitan area) has a population of nearly 12 million people, and is one of Europe's most populous metropolitan areas.

The settlement is important for more than two millennia, Paris today became one of the world's leading business and cultural centers, and the mix of politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science and art all helped its status as one of the world's largest global cities.Region Paris (Île-de-France) is the largest city economy in Europe, and the fifth largest in the list of cities according to world GDP. With € 500.8 billion (US $ 628.9 billion), the city produced a quarter of France's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2006. The Paris region has 36 of Fortune Global 500 companies in several business districts, notably La Défense, Europe's largest business district. Paris also has many international organizations such as UNESCO, OECD, ICC and Paris Club.

Paris is the most popular tourist destination in the world, with 30 million foreign visitors per year. There are a number of famous landmarks among its many attractions, along with world-renowned institutions and popular parks.

Eiffel Tower is one of the icon of Paris that you should not miss. You can come at night to the Eiffel Tower so that the city lights are as bright as you can. Tourists will also be more satisfied later with the restaurant in this tower so it can be at once a culinary tour in Paris.

The Arc de Triomphe Monument is also considered one of the largest arches in history. The construction of the gate itself was used to commemorate Napoleon's victory and his stance on the orders of Napoleon when he was victorious in 1806 after winning in Austerliz's war against Austria. Here you can take pictures and capture the moment as a beautiful memory in Paris.

The Louvre Museum is one of the largest museums in the world and certainly one of the most popular museums in Paris. Every year the number of visits here is always high. It contains over 380 thousand exhibits that you can see. One of the most famous is the Mona Lisa painted by Leonardo da Vinci.
