The world’s biggest plane, the Antonov An-225 Mriya, landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 12.30pm.

Abu Dhabi Airports confirmed on Sunday that the plane arrived from Kiev with 160 tonnes of cargo, which was unloaded. The plane returned to Ukraine later on Saturday evening.

This is the second time that the air freight touched down in the UAE, as it previously landed in Dubai on May 17.

Last Tuesday, the Antonov landed at Al Maktoum International Airport at 2pm, before continuing its journey to Italy with a 25-tonne rotor onboard.

The aircraft – named Mriya, which means Dream in Ukrainian – made stops in Australia, Turkey and Malaysia before touching down in Dubai
