I have not written anything for a long time. But, on the eve of the approaching summer, I wanted to tell you about one amazing place - "Cascade of waterfalls on the river Shinok".

Давненько я ничего не писала. Но вот, в преддверии приближающегося лета, мне захотелось вам рассказать об одном удивительном месте - "Каскаде водопадов на реке Шинок".

Why about this place? Because we plan to visit it in the next couple of months, in the spring, when the water is truly a huge and raging torrent of breaking from the mountains. In the summer and autumn, the flow is not so strong, but still produces an impression.

Почему о нем? Потому что мы планируем посетить его в ближайшие пару месяцев, по весне, когда вода поистине огромным и бушующим потоком срывается с гор. В летнее время и осенью, поток не такой сильный, но все равно производит впечатление.

My first acquaintance with the "Shinok" took place 11-12 years ago. With parents we often traveled in the mountains, but did not know about all the interesting places. Once, while in the village of "Soloneshnoe", my father got into a conversation with one of the local residents and he said that we should definitely visit the cascade of waterfalls and the "Denisov's cave". At that time we did not get into the cave, but we were interested in the waterfall.

И так, первое мое знакомство с "Шинком", состоялось лет 11-12 назад. С родителями мы часто путешествовали по горам, но не знали обо всех интересных местах. Однажды, заехав в село "Солонешное", отец разговорился с одним из местных жителей и тот сказал, что нам обязательно нужно посетить каскад водопадов и "Денисову пещеру". В тот раз в пещеру мы так и не попали, но вот водопад нас заинтересовал.

What is noteworthy, these striking places are located in the Altai Territory, and not in the Altai Republic, where all the main sights of the Altai are concentrated. And "Denisov's cave", once was the refuge of Neanderthals and a special kind - "Denisov's man". Later, the cave was used by the Huns and Turks.

Что примечательно, расположены эти поразительные места в Алтайском крае, а не в республике Алтай, где сосредоточены все основные прелести Алтая. А Денисова пещера, некогда являлась пристанищем неандертальцев и особого вида - Денисова человека. Позже пещеру использовали гунны и тюрки.

In kilometers 60 from the village Soloneshnoe, we found 2 camp sites, from which they were taken to waterfalls. The first base was on the field and had large stationary tents with doss and its own "dining room", where a stunning mutton soup was prepared. Unfortunately, apparently due to competition, it closed.

В километрах 60 от села Солонешное, мы наткнулись на 2 базы, с которых отвозили к водопадам. Первая база была на поле и имела большие стационарные палатки с топчанами и собственную "столовую", где готовили потрясающий суп из баранины. К сожалению, видимо из-за конкуренции, она закрылась.

The second base, which still operates, is located by the river. There are 5 houses on the opposite bank of the river below the mountain. Until now, I do not understand how people get to them, since the bridge has not been built, it is possible that they are transported by boat. But living in them, I think very uncomfortable, because On the other side there is nothing to do. On the main shore, you can only stand in cars or your own tents. Convenience is not enough.

Вторая база, работающая и по сей день, находится у реки. Здесь есть 5 домиков, расположенных на противоположном берегу реки под горой. До сих пор я не понимаю, как люди попадают к ним, т.к. моста так и не построили, возможно их переплавляют. Но проживание в них, думаю весьма неудобное, т.к. на том берегу делать нечего. На основном же берегу, можно стоять только в машинах или своих палатках. Удобств маловато.

Once in a few days a group is being recruited, which is delivered to the waterfalls on the GAZ-66. The length of the route is 12 km. In fact, this seems like a small distance, but the roads there are quite ... impassable, which increases the travel time. The path runs through the mountains and fields, passes along the cliffs and through the streams. All the way you climb one mountain after another. It's not realistic to get there by on ordinary car. No, in fact you can, if the road is dry and powerful ruts you will go through the grass, but will only start to rain, and you'll have to stay there for a few days until the road again and completely dries. But the landscapes there are certainly incredible!

Раз в несколько дней набирается группа, которую доставляют к водопадам на ГАЗ-66. Протяженность маршрута - 12 км. На самом деле это кажется небольшим расстоянием, но дороги там весьма... непроходимые, что увеличивает время в пути. Путь же пролегает через горы и поля, проходит у обрывов и через ручьи. Всю дорогу вы взбираетесь на одну гору за другой. На обычной машине добраться туда нереально. Нет, на самом деле можно, если дорога сухая и мощные колеи вы будете объезжать по траве, но стоит пойти дождю, и вам придется остаться там на несколько дней, пока дорога вновь и полностью не просохнет. Но пейзажи там конечно невероятные!

When 12 km are finally passed, you get to a small base, which has many stands with descriptions of notable places. From here begins the hiking path, which runs through the river (you will have to wade for ford of 20 times) and the difficult to pass thickets along narrow paths. Despite the large number of tourists, the place still looks very wild and mysterious, as if not from our world. The mysterious grottoes of rocks near the river banks, the overhanging mountains, the high and dense forests, the vast and varied vegetation, all this will amaze any, even the most inveterate tourist!

Когда 12 км наконец пройдены, вы попадаете на небольшую базу, имеющую много стендов с описаниями примечательных мест. Отсюда начинается пеший путь, который пролегает через реку (придется ходить в брод раз 20) и труднопроходимые заросли по узким тропинкам. Несмотря на большое количество туристов, место все еще выглядит весьма диким и загадочным, словно не из нашего мира. Таинственные гроты скал у речных берегов, то нависающие, то исчезающие горы, высокие и густые леса, обширная и разнообразная растительность, все это поразит любого, даже самого заядлого туриста!

Soon on the way we are met by the first waterfall - "Skat" (10m). It is quite small and takes a certain extent because of the cascade. But there are a lot of beautiful flat stones near it, on which everyone likes to be photographed.

Вскоре на пути нас встречает первый водопад - "Скат" (10м). Он совсем небольшой и занимает некую протяженность из-за каскада. Но возле него много красивых плоских камней, на которых все очень любят фотографироваться.

After, 30-40 minutes, you can see the second waterfall - "Rassypnoy" (25m). He falls from the rock crevice and looks more powerful. Near, the mountains go almost around, closing you in its space. The most curious begins after. To the left of the waterfall is the continuation of the route - a steep sloping hill on which you need to climb. Do not slip down to help you only protruding and already heavily trampled by tourists, the roots of trees. It's hard to climb here, but it's even harder to go down.

Через, минут 30-40 пути, можно увидеть второй водопад - "Рассыпной"(25м). Он падает со скальной расщелины и выглядит уже более мощно. Рядом горы идут практически кругом, замыкая вас в своем пространстве. Самое любопытное начинается после. Слева от водопада находится продолжение маршрута - крутая пологая горка на которую нужно забраться. Не соскользнуть вниз вам помогают только выступающие и уже сильно обтоптанные туристами, корни деревьев. Подниматься здесь тяжело, но спускаться еще хлеще.

Then the path leads you up the second waterfall. On the first trip, we waded in a meter from the cliff, from which the whole of water falls. Now the path was moved a little further for safety. But still, the impression produces.

Далее дорожка заводит вас наверх второго водопада. В первую поездку мы проходили вброд в метре от обрыва, с которого падает вся толща воды. Сейчас тропинку перенесли чуть дальше для безопасности. Но все равно, впечатление производит.

After, the path becomes the longest. The road to the third waterfall takes about an hour. On the way, there are several observation platforms and transshipment points, where tourists usually rest. They have garbage bins installed and people try not to litter anywhere, but anyway, there are those who scatter iron beer cans along the whole route.

После, путь становится самым долгим. Дорога до третьего водопада занимает около часа. По пути встречается несколько смотровых площадок и перевалочных пунктов, где обычно отдыхают туристы. На них установлены мусорные баки и люди стараются не мусорить где попало, но все равно, есть и те, разбрасывает пивные железные банки на протяженности всего маршрута.

There is one unusual place here, on the first trip, I immediately noticed it. It is a stone near which grows a fern. The shadow from the sheet falls on the stone and it seems that it is petrified imprint. Having succumbed to this cut-and-shoot trick, I immediately rushed to study and photograph this "object", when suddenly noticed near the stone ... real stones with prints! For me it was an incredible find, I searched all around until I saved a decent bunch of fossils. Passing by tourists with curiosity looked at my hobby and nervously twitching, keeping myself from the temptation to dig in a pile of stones. Some by the way and could not resist.

Есть здесь одно необычное место, в первую же поездку я сразу его заметила. Это камень, рядом с которым растет папоротник. Тень от листа падает на камень и кажется, что на нем окаменелый отпечаток. Поддавшись на эту светотеневую уловку, я тут же кинулась изучать и фотографировать этот "объект", как вдруг заметила подле камня... настоящие камни с отпечатками! Для меня это стало невероятной находкой, я обыскивала все вокруг пока не накопила приличную такую кучку окаменелостей. Проходящие мимо туристы с любопытством заглядывались на мое увлечение и нервно подергивались, удерживая себя от соблазна покопаться в груде камней. Некоторые кстати так и не удержались.

In subsequent times I always and easily could find this stone again, and until now I find near it pebbles with prints of ancient shells and plants. Unfortunately, these stones are now in the parents' house and I do not have the opportunity to photograph them for you.

В последующие разы мне всегда и с лёгкостью удавалось найти этот камень вновь, и до сих пор я нахожу возле него камушки с отпечатками древних раковин и растений. К сожалению, эти камни сейчас находятся в доме родителей и у меня нет возможности сфотографировать их для вас.

After some time, we finally get to a huge and again rounded gorge, in the middle of which falls, though not very wide, but certainly the stunning waterfall "Gray" (Big Shinok), or, as the people call it - "Giraffe". The height of the fall is 72 meters! The sound of water is audible long before you see the whole picture, which inflames curiosity even more.

Спустя еще некоторое время, мы наконец добираемся в огромное и опять же закругленное ущелье, в середине которого падает, пусть и не очень широкий, но безусловно потрясающий водопад "Седой" (Большой Шинок), или, как зовут его в народе - "Жираф". Высота падения составляет 72 метра! Шум воды слышно за долго до того, как ты видишь всю эту картину, что разжигает любопытство еще сильнее.

Spring and early summer water flow is very powerful. Stand under the waterfall, as many like it, will not work. And the closer you get to it, the more you become wetter :) Splashes of water fly away from the waterfall to many and many meters.

Весной и в начале лета поток воды очень мощный. Постоять под водопадом, как любят это многие, не получится. И чем ближе к нему подходишь, тем мокрее ты становишься :) Брызги воды отлетают от водопада на многие и многие метры.

Unfortunately, the hike is given a little time and sometimes, when you come to the Giraffe, you have to leave 10 minutes later, because You need to get back to the car on time. On average, I did not see anyone who would spend more than 20-30 minutes here. People usually rest and go back. And in vain! Three waterfalls is not all. Of course, you see the most powerful and beautiful of them, but beyond the Giraffe there are 3 or 4 (I do not remember exactly). To them lie two dangerous trails among the talus, which runs almost in parallel, to the left and right of the falls in the junctions of the mountains of the gorge.

К сожалению, на поход дается немного времени и порой, придя к Жирафу, тебе приходится уходить уже минут через 10, т.к. нужно вернуться к машине вовремя. В среднем, я не видела никого, кто провел бы здесь больше 20-30 минут. Люди обычно отдохнут и идут обратно. А зря! Три водопада это еще не все. Конечно, вы видите самые мощные и красивые из них, но за Жирафом их находится еще 3 или 4 (точно уже не помню). К ним пролегают две опасные тропки среди осыпей, которые идут практически параллельно слева и справа от водопада в стыках гор ущелья.

I always wanted at least once to climb to the top of this waterfall and see what is behind it. Unfortunately, it is difficult to do this, because Usually time is short, and it is not recommended to spend the night here because of wild animals.

Мне всегда хотелось хоть разок забраться на вершину этого водопада и посмотреть, что же находится за ним. К сожалению, сделать это затруднительно, т.к. обычно время поджимает, а ночевать здесь не рекомендуют из-за диких животных.

In the last trip we returned by car with the people who worked there. They did distance measurements and evaluated the work and cost in order to transfer information stands to each of the waterfalls. They were two young guys. They spent several days at the waterfalls and told that if they come back when it starts to darken, the sounds of animals start to come from the forests. This is a little scary, because Forests and so seem eerie))

В последней поездке мы возвращались на машине с людьми, которые там работали. Они делали замеры расстояния и оценивали работу и стоимость, чтобы перенести информационные стенды к каждому из водопадов. Это были двое молодых парней. Они провели на водопадах несколько дней и рассказали, что, если возвращаться, когда начинает уже темнеть, из лесов начинают доноситься звуки животных. Это немного пугает, т.к. леса и так кажутся жутковатыми))

More less safe place for spending the night, this is a mini-base with which the walking route begins, but according to stories, and not only these two guys, little animals get there. It's also not very convenient, because you have to re-pass the entire route, if you can not get to the Giraffe and come back to catch it before dark, the first time.

Более-менее безопасное место для ночевки, это мини-база с которой начинается пеший маршрут, но по рассказам, и не только этих двух парней, зверюшки добираются и туда. Так же это не очень удобно, ведь придется заново проходить весь маршрут, если вам не удастся попасть за Жирафа и вернуться, чтобы успеть до темноты, с первого раза.

But with animals you can encounter not only there, on the lower base, where the way on GAZ-66 begins, the little animals attack tents at night and just rustle around them. Apparently looking for the remains food of tourists. But at least it is small animals, the largest, of which there can be perhaps a fox, in contrast to the lynx on the waterfalls.

Но с животными вы можете столкнуться не только там, на нижней базе, откуда начинается путь на ГАЗ-66, зверюшки по ночам атакуют палатки и просто шастают возле них. Видимо ищут остатки пищи туристов. Но по крайней мере это мелкие зверьки, самым крупным, из которых может быть разве что лисица, в отличии от рысей на водопадах.

In general, this place will not leave anyone indifferent! Truly, the wild nature, located half a meter from the path, will beckon you to yourself again and again and never get bored.

В общем, место это никого не оставит равнодушным! Поистине, дикая природа, находящаяся в полуметре от тропинки, будет манить вас к себе снова и снова и никогда не надоест.
