I used to take my children hiking when they were young. We used to collect rocks, and always found at least one worthy of taking home. There are many good reasons to hike, and there should be hiking clubs in urban schools, to give the students an appreciation of nature. Thanks for sharing.
I still remember all the hikes my parents took my on as a kid. Sunday afternoon with the family by the lake. Definitely an amazing thing when you're young. At Chantry I've seen several groups of kids coming through, group home kids mainly. Great that they're getting out :) Thanks for dropping by!
