A Visit To Ooty / 参观 Ooty / 訪問先 Ooty

Last year on the eve of new year I had visited Ooty. It's a town located in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It's a hill station which is usually a little crowded during the summers as people rush here to enjoy the cold weather while sipping a cup of tea in the lush greenery and the mountains. For all the nature lovers and peace seekers it is a destination to visit for sure. And not just for the greenery and the hills, it's also famous for it's tea plantations and delicious homemade chocolates!

Listing down some of the places to visit and things to do here :

* Bamboo Forest : The place has a vast expanse of bamboo trees which lies adjacent to a beautiful lake. So you can visit both the places and take a little sunbath while you are there!

* Shooting Point : The shooting point got it's name because some movie scenes are shot here. It's full of trees and has a great view. There are horses present as well for you to take a ride.

* Visit The Tea Plantation And The Chocolate Factory : Located adjacent to each other, these two places are a must-visit. Visit the chocolate and the tea factory and watch each and every step and process needed to manufacture them. Get free tea and chocolate samples as well!

* Take A Toy Train Ride : The toy train ride here is very famous and difficult to catch as it doesn't run throughout the day. It will take you round the town, through tunnels and mountains !

* Doddabetta Peak : Do a little trekking and climb up to this place to catch a glimpse of the entire town!

* Take A Resort Facing The Mountains And Enjoy The View : We took a resort on top of a hill and watched the horizon from there. It was the best view I have ever seen in my life and will never forget it. It looked like a painting!

* Ooty Lake : Go boating at the Ooty lake. There are small shops outside where you can buy small souvenirs and gifts.

* Museum And Churches : The place also has a wax musuem and a famous church. Since we ran short of time, I couldn't visit either.

* Try The Local Food : I had heard a lot about a place called The Biryani House and thought of checking it out. It had amazing biryani to offer. the other items were tasty as well.

* Visit The Botanical Garden And Rose Park : I had never seen so many colors of roses in my life! The entire garden was full of flowers and trees. It was nature at it's best and thus was a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the scenery.

* The National Park : Try the jungle safari , you will see peacocks, elephants, leopard and so many other animals. At the end of the jungle they will take you to a small village with a lake view and a swing right in the center! Enjoy a sip of coconut water there before returning.

*Buy Home-Made Chocolates : Don't forget to get your box of homemade chocolates and tea before leaving. I got a box each for some of my friends and they all loved it!
