Want to escape crowded Los Angeles? Go to the beach! I will take you there today.
Yesterday the weather was really nice in Southern California and therefore a great day to visit the Beach.
Just outside LA you will have the Pacific ocean waiting for you with a great vibe and people, restaurants to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach.
If takes you around 45 minutes to go by subway from downtown to the beach. So what are you waiting for!
Santa Monica
Is a nice small city just outside of busy Los Angeles with just under 100K people. The highlight, at least the touristy highlight is the Santa Monica pier, with Restaurants and great activities for kids. I would suggest to walk or rent a bike to go from Santa Monica to Venice beach. The walk will take you 30 minutes and it’s just great fun to walk close to the ocean with all the people running and skating as well.

Venice Beach
Whether you look for bars, shops or entertainment, Venice Beach has it all. Visit the free spirited boardwalk with colorful street performers or go on a treasure hunt in all the funky shops.
So my suggestion, when the weather is nice and you are in LA always visit this area for a great day out!

Nice Haas! Trying to catch up with your post now my friend. Looks like you are having a blast. I've on the move, busy busy busy. Just got to Piura Pura today. Flying out to Lima Tomorrow, just spent 3 days in Lobitos with @intrepidsurfer. Just to give you an idea. Gonna go check out more of you trip now.
Man, that laid back atmosphere feels like a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle to it East coast counterpart. I would very much fit in with this environment, I feel.

I live in the LA/Valley area but rarely get a chance to go down to the beach!! Go figure!!! It is Beautiful out there though so I need to make the hour drive more often!!! Thanks for sharing your experience here!! We are not all snobs out here in Cali...LOL!!
