Welcome back to this ‘hidden gems’ series of my blog. For the people that don’t know what to expect, it’s simple, I will share the most unique and fun spots in Amsterdam with you. So when you visit this beautiful city you can experience the city like a real local.
The weather is getting better and soon we are able to enjoy my favorite time a year in the city; Summer!
today I will post about an event that attracts 1.5 million people in 8 weeks! “The Keukenhof” is a world famous flower festival that is a must see if you enjoy flowers.
Every year there are busses full of tourists going there and I never went. So this year when I had a friend over from Canada I decided to see if you for myself.
So for all the other people that will be in Amsterdam but not during the 8 weeks they host the festival here a small tour;
Keukenhof
The festival will welcome people from 100 different countries, 120K Americans, 100K Chinese and from all other countries in the world. So why is this festival so popular? There are more than 7million flowers! And 800 different kinds of tulips! So if you are in the Netherlands right now make time to visit the festival. Its only 40 minutes away from Amsterdam!
The festivals runs until may 13th!

Last year the Netherlands a record setting 6 billion euro’s! just think about that number for a second.
