Where I Belong
Since my first visit to the ocean at age 11, I've always felt drawn to the water. I've traveled to several beaches along the US's eastern coast and much of the Caribbean for weeklong stays throughout the years.. When I was 19, I left KY behind and spent 9 months in Key West, FL. At age 21 I left it behind again to apend 3 years in Jacksonville, FL. It wasn't until a family cruise in 2012 (at age 32) that I finally found the place my heart had been searching for - a tiny island named Roatan, Honduras.
We spent the day exploring everything the small island has to offer and I fell instantly in love. This was the place my journey had been leading me to - the water that called my name throughout the years.
We traveled back to Roatan a year later and spent a week and hope to some day spend even more time there. It's the place I'm called to . . . the place I feel at peace . . . the place where I belong.
Roatan Island is a special place where the place!!
Do you know many people there?
Sadly, we don't. I hope to one day though.
