Our Visit To Hearst Castle - Building A Golden Dream (Original Blog)

Hello everyone, to all my new followers, I'm Claudine. Harmony & Marcello's mother. I must say, to be at the Hearst Castle is a dream of golden measures. Next time I visit the Heart Castle foundation, I would love it to be for my five year wedding anniversary.

I hope for those of you who read about my first lovely experience there with my husband, Dominique, @verbal-d, in October, that you can receive the same warm energy that was felt when we stepped out the tour bus and soaked in the sunlight, which lit up the magnificent castle and royal architecture.

Please engulf yourself into this story by us both, as we venture forth into one of the many captivating structures of fantasy-world castles here on earth.

After a long time driving through the beautiful landscapes and ocean-side freeways, we have made it to our destination. Hearst Castle. While on the tour bus, which rode along the curvaceous smooth gravel roads alongside the gorgeous emerald hills and forestry.

Mr. William Hearst's castle slowly came into sight, bright and shiny as the sun, while the elongated vehicle slugged and lurched up the path toward the massive black iron bar gates. The gates slid automatically to the sides granting the vain entry into a realm of splendour.

As we stepped off the bus we were in awe and shock at what the building looked like up close and soundly awaiting our approval at the top of the large sets of marble white cream stairs.

The sunbeams glistened off of the dimensional wonder. The 24carat gold plated architectural designs that patterned the front face of the tremendous door spoke whispered histories to our viewing eyes.

We bore witness to the naked ivory and limestone structures that were surrounding the foundation of the castle. The tour guide foretold of the building's Roman-Catholic and Spanish Church influences on it's design and style of creation, but it was not a church.

The massive castle was a home. We stood as still and as equal to the monuments and statues of carved people. Mesmerised for moments, as long as one can manage to do so without straining their eyes, we realised we were a part of that immobile foundation that doesn't move itself, but moves the hearts and minds of those who revel in it's perfectly rigid slumber.

It did not, so much as yawn or stir, as we rapidly photographed every crevice, surface and angle of it's being.

Near the fountain, the lime green and turquoise toads hopped about the green lily pads skipping and somewhat soaring or flying momentarily over the floundering citrus-bellied goldfish.

The nature of these organisms re-awakened our drive to move about the castle with camera in hand, clicking and flashing about the ancient and archaic skyscraper-like castle.

All of these pictures of ours aimed and taken with poise, attempting to capture the artful tapestry, many cultural paintings, and the incredible Roman pillared outdoor Pool known as The Neptune.

The beauty of it all made it hard for me not to smile and jump out of pure joy and happiness.

an even more awesome indoor pool with deep hues of dark blue and gold coloured drawings and tiled pattern flooring and the many ancient, antiquities of ancestral furniture and handcrafted wood carvings and effigies (sculptures) the Roman Pool.

We were in those lovely environments, hoping to hold captive the images of its sheer beauty within the prying lens of our camera's eye.

This portable handheld machinery, willed by our insatiable and hard-to-satisfy hunger, swallowed and engulfed its usefulness by seizing still visuals of the surroundings and dimensions of this colossal home and the serenity and marvelousness that permeated from its being.

Standing before its gargantuan proportions and lofty and massive presence, we felt tiny, but also humble and elated because of the happiness and "awe"-like feelings it evoked within our imaginations. We shall never forget our tour to Hearst Castle, especially after learning of a close friend of ours with his father, who had told us he knew the Hearst family personally, and used to babysit their children for them on that grandiose property. Talk about having privilege and opportunity :)

Thank you for viewing this post, I hope you will have a chance to visit Hearst Castle, because it's truly beautiful in person.
