Wat Rong Khun “The White Temple” of Chiang Rai...Thailand.
Most amazing and most outstanding piece of work i have even seen by far is the Wat Rong Khun Temple known as "The White Temple" in Thailand. I was so much looking forward to visiting this famous most toured temple in Thailand. On arrival from Bangkok airport which took just over a hour flight landing at mid-morning we made our way to our already booked hotel checked in and by mid-day we were ready to take a air conditioned taxi which would be about a 30 minute ride about 15 km outer town of Chiang Rai where the White Temple would be seen.
The taxi ride was very pleasant and in no time we had arrived at the temple what a astonishing view it was as if this temple was alive full of heavenly vibes with sun rays reflecting of the temple straight back into the skies. Approaching and examining the Temple i saw it had lots of mirror glass pieces that were plaster within the buildings rendering this what gave the temple a sparking effect when the sunshine reflected of the temple. The glass symbolizes the Buddha’s wisdom and the white color of the temple signifies the purity of the Buddha is what i came to understand.
The sculptures of fabled beings all around the temple are made to such beauty and detail that you could sit there for hours absorbing there peaceful nature.
As we were walking towards the temple the pathway leading to the entrance of the temple we were seeing all these hands and sculptures reaching up to the heavens skies quite scary i thought but this resembles the belief of the Buddhisms the cycle of life, death and rebirth.
The Golden building on the grounds of Wat Rong Khun is another breath taking building entirely covered with gold leaf and painted in gold and decorated with mirror glass pieces also painted in gold. The surprising aspect about this golden building we thought it was another temple of worship well to our disbelief it turned out to be washroom and public restroom it's got to be the most beautiful toilet or restroom i have even seen in Thailand.
Now as we know Thailand is the land of Temples and many Temples are similar to each other but as with "The White Temple" i must say it is most breathtaking temple i have ever seen in Thailand absolutely spectacular and most definitely a unique masterpiece. Be sure to visit this temple if ever you visiting Thailand believe me it will take your breath away....!!
