The most people when they visit Istanbul they hear about the famous places like Sultan Ahmet or Taksim. I discovered an other beautiful place there that the most tourists dont hear about. It is Pierre Lotti and located in Eyüp area. It is very well known among the local people and a very good place to walk around and shop.

A lovely area of the city, with the beautiful Eyüp Sultan Mosque and a fountain in the middle of the square. Inside the mosque you find the tomb of the saint Eyüp Ansari. Lovely colors and nice architecture. It is a very busy place with many people visiting continuously. It can be very crowded, mostly at prayer time.

Different local restaurants serving traditional Turkish food and coffee. Very clean and well organized. I saw many new married couples coming there to visit the saint. Many families brought their children wearing very pleasant and traditional Ottoman clothes. It was really nice!

Cable cars are not to be missed you can get nice Turkish tea and make photos at the hill point. The most of the time you will find long queues at the Station, so better to walk through the cemetery and enjoy the great view of the golden horn and the city.

I preferred to walk uphill through the most beautiful cemetery. Nice tall graves with nice designs. The most of them are very old and some are new. An Interesting combination of Ottoman and modern Muslim gravestones.

I dont forget the "Graveyard's Cats"! Thats how I love to call them and there were many of them relaxing in the shadow of the big trees waiting for people to feed them :)

Dont forget to visit it when you go to Istanbul. It is very nice and peaceful. It is also a nice area to shop in and the prices are a lot cheaper than in the touristic place in the city :)
