Vietnam, Halongbay!

Afcours every traveler in Vietnam has to go to Ha Long Bay.

It's a very beautiful place and the trip by water and sleeping on a boat is very special. We did a 3 day tour where we slept 1 nights on a boat and one night on the island of Cat Ba!
During the first day we went on a canoeing trip through some caves to a little bay where there were monkeys living in the trees. I hate those animals, so unpredictable! glad they don't swim :D Did some night swimming and had an awesome BBQ meal on board with fresh fish that we have caught ourselves that day.

The next day we went to the island of Cat Ba and did a cycling tour and a little hiking across the island and trough some caves filled with bats. It's a very green island where more than half is covered by protectit national park forest. The island is very popular by asian tourists. If you don't want to do a boat tour you can hop on the Cat Ba express from Hanoi. If you are there take a hotel little bit further from the city center. There are a lot of open air karaoke bars and party boats in front of the beach near the center... very noisy.

I love those colorful boats and houses on the water. Complete villages of fisherman and there familie. They even got floating schools and supermarkets.
