Reynisfjara Beach - Iceland

in #travel6 years ago

Usually, when you are going to the sandy beach there is bright colored ground. This time, world famous Reynisfjara beach offered me to experience how it is to be on a beach with totally black sand. Well, it certainly was very different than usual. This place offers high basalt stacks, huge Atlantic waves and of course the endless black beach. Reynisfjara is also considered one of the most beautiful black beaches in Iceland and National Geographic even voted this place as one of the top 10 non-tropical beaches to visit on this planet.

There was one problem. World's famous beach does mean massive crowds of people. We were there in the mid daytime and you can imagine that this is no photographer friendly place at that time. Unfortunately, I had no choice to be there another time so I tried to avoid people on photos as much as I could.

This place is former lava field and these strange stairs looking stones formed when lava touched the ocean. It was stunning to see all the caves and different find of stone formations around the area.

It's hard to express myself how calming it was to be next to the ocean waves and watching them. I was there around an hour and half of that time I just sat at the beach and thought that I never wanna leave this place. I'm so missing this place now.

There was also a really small cave where I took a lava stone and brought it back to Estonia with me.

Someone probably realized there that he/she fell in love with Iceland and decided to leave a marking.

Who does not like to see the natural scene. Everyone wants to visit the beautiful places of the world. We have become mechanical to see ourselves the buildings of the brick-cement-stone buildings around us. Difficulty in nesting the house. So maybe our mechanical city, where there is a lot of opportunities, as well as our sightseeing. Because we are naturally comfortable. Now we do not go to enjoy the wonderful landscapes at any place of trouble, where we have to face many problems. And that is why we go beyond our sights, some of the wonderful places in the world.

Well, I'm no city person, I can't go without nature. One of my life goals is to visit as many places on our planet as I can, this includes going pack to Iceland at some point.
