The Cove on Phi Phi Island - amazing place on an amazing island
It is hard to imagine that I would live in this area for over 10 years and yet I have only stayed on this world-famous island a total of 3 nights in that time.
I am moving away from the area soon and figured it was "now or never" and went over to Koh Phi-Phi for a few nights at a resort that my Swedish friend is the manager of. It is called "the Cove" and WOW... this is an extremely special place.

If you don't know about Phi Phi, it is one of the most popular places to travel to in the entire country of Thailand. This can be at least a bit attributed to a rather rubbish DiCaprio film called "the Beach." Anyway, you likely already know how I feel about that guy and his movies.
Phi Phi is not very far from Krabi or Phuket, it is about half-way in-between the two. There is a wide array of accommodation available on the Island but the Cove is a bit different in the way that it is separated from the "main part of the island" by a rock formation. Therefore it is necessary to take a boat to get to this private beach.

There are more than 50 bungalow units here and they have various amenities that change the price up and down accordingly, just like you would expect. However, no matter which one of them you choose, no one is very far from that awesome emerald clear water that this part of the world is so famous for. Also, whether you are in the luxury or the cheapo ones, everyone has the same access to the complimentary breakfast in what is just an amazing setting to start your day.

This place is truly a great getaway and I am actually a bit upset at myself for waiting so long to come and check it out. Here is a quick tip for getting the best rate you can. Check the price on whatever booking site you want, make a screen capture of the offer and then contact The Cove directly with this price and ask them to beat it. They will beat it because the booking site that you just took a screen capture from is going to charge them 15-20 percent commission that they would probably much rather offer directly to you, the consumer. By the way this tactic works with pretty much all accommodation all over the world.

Good idea about getting better discounts on the prices. I really like the look of this place.You do come up with some gems and just need to file them away.
yeah, because i post so frequently i might be sending too much, too fast... but even though it is extremely specialized.... i do know some stuff.
Man, how beautiful! I loved phi phi, sure it’s super touristy, and I stayed just outside of the main hustle, hired a kayak and spent a day finding private beaches! It really is a stunning island, I loved it, when I was outside of the main tourist areas!
yeah, that's a big part of the reason why i haven't been spending much time there in the past decade. This Cove place feels like it is a whole different island but some people might not like how isolated it is. Since I normally live in the city, i appreciated the separation.

Wow, it looks amazing! I lived in Thailand two weeks a month for about 9 months and traveled a little but I never made it to Koh Phi-Phi. South East Asia is definitely back on my list as I've been homesick for years since coming back to Europe. Hopefully sooner rather than later... Where are you moving to?
I have heard about this place called Koh Phi-Phi and it's natura beauty which makes it a heaven for tourist and other international visitors, because of its natural serene environment and it closeness to the sea .
And the hotel Cove that you analysis is really a beauty to behold and a stylish hotel that is also very close to the sea, but maybe if I happen to visit Thailand as a tourist I will certainly try and spend a night in this amazing hotel @gooddream
