La Boca (place in D.R.) : Almost no chance you'll end up here but a fun place
La Boca is definitely not on the tourist track. As a matter of fact the path leading to it almost seems like you shouldn't be there. At the end of the road you a few cars parked and you wont understand why because there doesn't appear to be much reason to come here or any people around.
However, if you know someone local they will tell you to stand at this dock for a few minutes and lo and behold a bit later a small boat can be seen in the distance. It almost seems as though you are about to go and do something illegal but no you are just on your way to a secret restaurant and bar that you would almost certainly never discover without a local guide.
If you find yourself near Cabarete Beach in The Dominican Republic ask if anyone knows Wilson's. It is a bit of a trek to get there but worth it for the adventure factor.
Wilson's has no electricity so you better come during the day. What they do have is a very unique vibe and some very fresh fish, lobster, and prawns.
how's that for a kitchen going back in time?
The beers were cold and they had cocktails as well plus the staff were super friendly. There was one small problem though and that was that the food took ages, but i suppose we were ordering from a kitchen that has none of the food prepared and is cooking with WOOD - so i should make allowances.
it was a pretty cool day with a nice breeze but if it is too hot you can ask them to turn on the ceiling fan
About 2pm the entertainment kicks in as this is apparently a sought after area for kite-surfers due to the fact that the wind is very dependable in this location. I couldn't get any awesome pictures but I tried.
I really love discovering things that not just everyone can encounter and I would say that Wilson's Restaurant is likely one of the most hidden establishments that I have ever been to. The prices are fair and the people were really friendly. It was just a fantastic adventure and I am just so happy my pals decided to show it to me.
Wow! A secret bar ! Haha... U r becoming like Dr. Indiana Jones and discovering unique and unmanned areas. 😉 as reading your post, it really seems that a tourist may have come near to the cabarete beach but he/she can never find that Wilson's bar snd restaurant! No electricity? So what... U can always enjoy it in the day light... And if you got bored or need a bit extra entertainment... Well, see at the beach... Kite surfing is wait for yaa! 😎😃

Ohh! How amazing it is to experience something hidden and new. The restaurant seems to be a of typical beach vibe and moreover it would have been amazing experience out there as seems like from this blog.
You are lucky enough to travel frequently.

Yummy..Wood grilled FRESH fish! I bet it was fantastic. So Jealous..
