In an perfect sound money world we wont need fiat at all :) Imagine any excess money being kept all in gold ( money you would normally have in a checking account depreciating ). Over long periods ( lifetimes) you would be maintaining purchasing power optimally :)
Yes, and you cant print gold. It took me six months to convince my father to put money into a Goldmoney account. He started adding around $1,025 per ounce. I called him a few weeks ago and asked him how his balance did against his bank interest and he laughed and said he made more in one day than all the bank interest this year even tjough he has twenty times the amount in the bank. Gold could always reverse, but more likely heading towards $2,000. I put a sliver of gains from Crypto into GM to preserve it. Fun so far.
