RE: Travel Pro Hotel Cooking #1: Thai Red Curry Chicken Soup! In a Hotel in Quito Ecuador! (19 photos)

You used to be a personal chef? I'd love one of those. Although I sort of have one as my partner does pretty much all the cooking. 😊

Please will you create a tag for your recipes? Maybe travelprofood. Should I ever hit the road again I'd love to be able to easily search for them as I'm sure many people who are on the road right now would!

That soup looked delicious!

That sounds like a good idea, and some great feedback too, looks like this series will be a winner. I never leaned cooking professionally. When I was teaching English in Korea I downloaded every Jamie Oliver cooking show watched them twice and filled two notebooks up with notes, practiced on my own for years. I put an ad on craigslist while I was helping my mom in New York for 6 months back in 2010. I got a response and the next thing I knew I was a personal chef for a very wealthy family. They loved my food, but they treated me like crap, wanted me to clean their toilets too, and my true passion is travel so I quit. They were sad to see me go. But I love food and I love to cook. I really have a great understanding of what goes with what. travelprofood sounds like a tag I can use for my travel eats posts too. Maybe travelprocooks will be the one. Maybe I should start tagging all my series posts with specific names. You really go me thinking. Thank you for that.

You're welcome. I think tagging all your series is a great idea. Now you got me thinking too!

I would make it easier if I was in a particular country to find everything you'd written about it. I would definitely use it to find some more interesting, off the beaten track type places you'd visited.

Interesting story about your personal chef days. I can see why you'd want to give that up. My partner cooks loads of Jame Oliver food too although never in the 30 minutes or 15 minutes he claims!

Yeah, he starts with boiling water! in those videos and has his assistants have things like half prepped. Then what about clean up! lol But Jamie's video always have a great educational element to them which I love.
