Away from tour group part 4----take the Guinness record for largest pure-gold bar back home(if you can)

I think many people should know the Jiufen, but less people know the town Jinguashi, which near Jiufen.

Jinguashi is an old town and famous by digging gold , although now it's stop digging , but you also can try panning gold there , also visit a stretch of the tunnel to get a taste of mining work.

Here still have more than 200 tonne of gold underground, but in order to protect the environment and geology, the government of Taiwan decided to stop digging , just develop travel industry, introduce the digging history !

From Jiufen, there is some bus connect with Jinguashi, very convenient, so if you visit Jiufen, you can add Jinguashi in your visiting list.

We arrived the Four Joined Japanese-Style Residences, which keep it's old face completely , you can enter by a small group ,and a local guide will introduce the history for you .

Local guide will play a video first, it have Chinese/Japanese/English version, let us have a preliminary concept , and then walk in.

Living room, kitchen, bedroom, complete in very line, walk on the Japanese floor , look at the furnishings, seems you can see the live for the gold miners, the chessboard in the living room is an excellent photo site.

There also an air-raid shelter inside the residence, but seal up , otherwise I really want to walk inside.

Taste panning gold by yourself, panning gold in the sand by traditional tools, maybe you can find your own gold? ticket is NT$120, actually I think that get a gold or not is not so important, the most important is taste experience.

The Benshan No. 5 Tunnel is well worth the extra payment (NT$50), really not expensive , providing a taste of the miner’s environment, although visitors only get to explore a fraction of the site’s network of tunnels.

Before come in , the staff will give everyone a hairnet and casque, if you have enough qualification, you can cosplay a local miner perfectly.

In the Gold Refining Building, many old photo , tiny mould, digging tools, gold display, let you have more understand at operating of mining area.

If you are hungry , there is a restaurant selling a special lunch box named mineworker's lunch box, it is a big pork with rice.

Also have some artificial gold chocolate and coal chocolate, tell someone you are so poor that just can eat gold and coal.
