Vietri is a dreamy picturesque village in the province of Salerno.Amalfi with the beautiful coast is only 20 km away and is best to reach by bus also the famous Pompei is easily accessible from there.But back to Vietri.We were in the Lower part of the ancient part, called Vietri sul Mare.
Vietri sul Mare is famous for the handmade colorful ceramics, which are sold all over the coast. The famous Vietri tiles, vases, plates and other ceramics were produced here in the Middle Ages. Very many houses and churches are decorated with traditional tiles, many with religious motifs. The cheerful colorful colors reflect the turquoise sea, the blue sky and the green Mediterranean scrub.

A pottery shop lined up to the other, mostly led by generations in families. Unfortunately, it was not allowed in the shops to take photos of the ceramics, but was only half as bad as anywhere in the city you can find the ceramics and the photos I would like to take it with you

Vietri ist ein verträumtes malerisches Örtchen in der Province Salerno.Amalfi mit der wunderschönen Küste ist nur 20 km entfernt und ist von dort am besten mit dem Bus zu erreichen auch das berühmte Pompei ist von dort schnell erreichbar.Aber zurück zu Vietri.Wir waren im unteren Teil dem Antiken Part,nennt sich Vietri sul Mare.
Berühmt ist Vietri sul Mare für die handgefertigte bunte Keramik, die überall an der ganzen Küste verkauft wird. Schon in der Zeit des Mittelalter wurden hier die bekannten Vietri-Fliesen, Vasen, Teller und andere Keramikgegenstände hergestellt. Sehr viele Häuser und Kirchen sind mit traditionellen Fliesen dekoriert, viele mit religiösen Motiven. Die fröhlichen bunten Farben spiegeln das türkisfarbene Meer, den blauen Himmel und die grüne mediterrane Macchia.
Ein Keramikladen reiht sich an den anderen,meist geführt über Generationen in Familien hand.Leider war es in den Läden nicht erlaubt Fotos von der Keramik zu machen,war aber nur halb so schlimm denn überall in der Stadt findet man die Keramik und die Fotos konnte ich mitnehmen und möchte sie euch gerne präsentieren.Viel Freude damit.

Also in our hotel was the beautiful ceramics an important component.
Auch in unserem Hotel war die wunderschöne Keramik ein wichtiger Bestandteil.
