My trip to Konni and Ponmudi in Kerala, INDIA
Recently I had an opportunity to visit Konni and Ponmudi . Both Konni and Ponmudi are in Kerala, India. Konni is approximately 100 KM from Trivandrum and Ponmudi is nearly 50 KM from Trivandrum.
Konni is a forested village in the Pathanamthitta district. There are Rubber and Teak plantations in Konni. There is also an Elephant camp which attracted me the most. You may come across many elephants of different ages including elephant calves. Also you will get an opportunity to see how wild elephants are being tamed by trained elephants
Also there is provision for trekking in Konni.
My next trip was to Ponmudi which is a hill station with narrow pathways and with a cool weather. Ponmudi offers an ideal t destination for tourists especially nature lovers . It is almost 56 km from Trivandrum, Kerala. It is at an altitude of 1100 meters. From Trivandrum you can reach Ponmudi in a car or in an SUV. I traveled in a Mahindra Scorpio.
Ponmudi is settled along the banks of Kollar river. Places of interest include Peppara Wild life Sanctuary and a mini Zoo. People who love trekking will get opportunities for that.
