Life in the banks of the backwaters near Aleppey

Aleppey is a town in the Kerala state of India. From Aleppey we can travel in house boats and go deep inside along the backwaters. I have briefly mentioned about the house boats in one of my previous blogs. I will attach the photo of the house boat below

If you travel along the backwaters , you will come across many people who live along the banks. They depend mostly on small boats to go to town to buy most of the items they need. Piped water supply is available now. Before they used to depend on the water from lake for cooking and cleaning. Let me attach some photos which depicts how they live along the banks.

People face some hardships, but they are very happy to live in this environment
