Road trip to the Himalayan community of Nako-Tabo - Dhankar, Himachal Pradesh, India (2/2)
Hey all
Today i will continue with my trip to Himachal Pradesh
We began our drive to Dhankar, situated amongst Tabo and Kaza. Put at a height of roughly 13,000 feet, the Dhankar town was the recent capital of the Spiti Valley kingdom. Amid the seventeenth century, it had seen a portion of the early leaders of Spiti, the Nonos.
The name Dhankar straightforwardly means 'a place set in the furthest reaches of the mountains and inaccessible by outsiders'. Encompassed by only a lot of infertile mountains, Dhankar is the place to be for those of you looking for peace and quietness. On the town, sits the well known Dhankar Gompa, an old religious community having a place with the Gelugpa faction of Buddhism. The view from the Dhankar cloister was stunning since the complex is based on a high goad neglecting the conversion of the Spiti and Pin streams.
A hour of short of breath climbing from the Dhankar religious community, on a tight trail takes one to the highest point of the slope, where one is treated with an awe inspiring perspective of the Dhankar Lake. Perfectly clear water, against snowcapped mountains and with flurrying mists, all caught on the reasonable waters of the lake – It was a picture taker's blessing from heaven!
These beautiful kids made my day.
It was a memorable trip.
God bless you.
