Travel Series (Part #4) Istanbul, Turkey :- City of contrasts

Istanbul is an unique city in the world. It is both modern and ancient. It has great hopping nightlife, beautiful restaurants and has world's most amazing ancient wonders.

I am going to share you my visiting experience in Istanbul. Here i will tell you the places which must visit in Istanbul.

There are 2 airports Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Atatürk airport is near to the city center, So i booked the flight which came to Atatürk. And i suggest you to do the same.

You should remember these points when you are visiting to Istanbul:-

• First thing you will need the currency which is Turkish Liras (TL) and this is the smaller denominations to pay for the services like transportation and food. You can use ATM to to get the TL. Or you can exchange your currency into TL at airport.
• You should purchase the Istanbulkart. By this you can save some percentage of money while traveling by metro or ferry.
• Print Out your hotel's complete address and directions . It will help you when you hire a taxi and sometimes drivers doesn't know the exact place where your hotel is. So that Printed paper will help you to reach there without having any trouble.

Anyways, I landed Atatürk airport at 7am in the morning and the airport was amazing. I came out from the airport and booked a taxi to my hotel "Airport İnci Hotel". This is really a best hotel at low price.

After reaching to my hotel i immediately taken shower and freshen up and called for breakfast. And at 10am i was ready to leave the hotel and explore the city.

• Before planning to visit please google about the places to visit in Istanbul. That will give you an idea about how you are going to visit.

Here i am going to tell you about all the places which i have visited there.

Topkapi Palace

It was the home of emperors once of 3 continents. This is must see place for everyone as it has traces of history of Istanbul and priceless treasures.

Hagia Sophia Museum

This was a Church once upon a time and then it becomes a mosque and now a days this is museum. The artwork in it is more than a thousand years old which will attract you in.

Sultan Ahmed Mosque

This is around 1700 years old mosque, built by Sultan Ahmed. Millions of tourists come here every year.
Blue name is given because of its beautiful blue tiles interior. Fine Blue tiles brought by Iznik gives it more bluer look than it is.

Dolmabahçe Palace Museum

For almost a century Dolmabahçe Palace was the administration hub for the Ottoman Empire. Then after it's been the house of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. He was the founder of Turkish Republic.

Galata Tower

Galata Tower is a medieval stone tower. This is the striking landmark of the city. This is 9 story tower. This tower will give you a whole view of Istanbul and you will get some amazing shots from there. You will have a 360° view of Istanbul.
