Great photos. Of all your tips, number 4 is my favorite. The people in Vietnam are the most friendly that I've encountered in 30+ countries.

I didn't enjoy Hoi An very much (it felt like a Disney version of Vietnam to me and I hate clothing shops), but I loved Danang. I ended up staying in Danang for a few months.
