Volgograd. Mamaev kurgan

Part 4 of the story of the cruise "Friends are going to warm places" on the ship "Rus Velikaya" to Kazakhstan: "OM-152", Volgograd high-speed tram, Mamayev Kurgan.

May 14, 2015, the third day of travel.

Very unusual for us was an excursion around Volgograd. Our motor ship did not go to the mooring wall of the river station of Volgograd, but got on the passenger roadstead. I can not explain why this happened, but the fact remains. We were told that the berths of Volgograd are not accepted, and we will now be taken ashore on the local OM-152 motor ship.

In the control room "OM" in 1965 built a real steering wheel.

Anyone who wants to visit Volgograd today must now move to a local motor ship approaching. There will be no second flight!

Tourists of the ship "Rus Velikaya" were accommodated in the salons of the ship OM-152. Someone took a place in the bow cabin.

The riddle. And why the ship "Rus Velikaya" was not allowed to approach the pier in Volgograd, but it was necessary to arrange this drive with "OM"?

In Volgograd, we were waiting for a standard bus sightseeing tour around the city with a visit to the Mamayev Kurgan. But I remember how a week ago Mikhail and I were shaking in a minibus along the killed roads of Volgograd. This time, I did not want to repeat this experience, and there was a desire to get acquainted with interesting city transport - the Volgograd high-speed tram. Together with a group of tourists of the ship "Rus Velikaya" by bus we drove from the river station to the area of the Fallen Fighters and went for a drive on the high-speed tram.

Volgograd high-speed tram is a local metro in the city center with six underground stations and tunnels. Then the tram line goes to the surface, where he passes 16 more stations. In the cashier we buy a ticket, the controller composts it, we pass to the station.

Sit down, now go. There is even a conductor here. The conductor sells tickets to those who entered at ground tram stops.
