Travel Japan Day 4 Part 1 Takeshita Street
Takeshita Street, where shoppers and crazies collide. If you read the last blog, I was pretty much whinging about people who travels to score bargains.
That's my friend. Her name whom I dare not mention because she will skin me alive, got her wish and we all went shopping at the famous street.
We arrived at 9ish AM, most shops were closed and some were just opening up. Immediately after 10, influx of tourists, locals and crazies made their way in.
It is like a market but it is not as big compared to Ben Thanh in Vietnam. Ben thanh is double the size. The difference is the quality, style and price.
I bought a bag, shirts and shorts because I don't see them back home. If you come here expecting the same prices as the cheap markets, then you will be disappointed like my friend. She did not spend as much as she was expecting because she did not like the prices.
Shops here seem to be independent fashionistas selling their take on fashion. You won't see lots of fakes here.
I was going to take photos of the items I bought but it did not occur to me before I had a shower.
Anyways here is the entrance to the market.
There is Daiso in Japan! I thought Daiso was spawned by the 100 Yen shop.
Dragonball merchandise. Any anime lover would love these.
There was a big line before this candy shop opened. Mostly kids in their uniform and some grown ups. They were tourists and probably just wanted to see what the fuss is all about.
The fuss was a giant fairy floss!
Some shops and a green tea Kit Kat.
Walking past this shop smelt soooo good. We just had to eat it.
Then the crazies came out. There was two but I missed the chance to take photos. I have video footage though. The other one was dressed like this one but a female.
Some wonderful colors and shapes.
The locals that visits this place. Just to give you how they carry themselves.
Shopkeepers hustling for business.
Then there was a cat cafe. 200 Yen for 10 minutes and keep a tab on your own time. They will not remind you. So if you stay for 1 hour you might get a heart attack when you see the bill.
We searched for half an hour for a good place to eat. Found one hidden under a building. Accessible via a steep downward steps. The food here is amazing and locals know it.
When you buy seven of these, you can get your wish granted.

Awesome! Love seeing the locals.
You mentioned traveling with 10 people? How's everyone doing? Its been about a week maybe?
So I was a bit confused by the first photo, as to which one was your friend. I think you clarified this in a later shot about crazies, but I just want to be sure?
Great post, thanks for sharing!
Ahahha she might as well look like that but no. Shes not that daring. Thanks for reading.
