On The Road Again
A Beautiful Morning Near Demming, New Mexico
What do we do when the homestead is cold and there is nothing to can, dry, or freeze? Well, this is a time when we often make the soaps and candles. But even then, you can only make so much. We might pick up needles and knit or crochet, or work on a quilt. No matter what we do, there are those times when there is not much going on. So what should we do? Travel of course!
East Texas Near New Mexico Border
Leaving New Mexico, after a cold night in Demming, we wake to a beautiful day. So we continue our journey into East Texas. Beautiful days, lots of green hills in the December sun, and cold chilly nights. This part of Texas has a lot of natural beauty.
East Texas Is Green
Texas is a huge state and sometimes it seems like it will never end. Miles and miles of desert and sage brush. But when you get to East Texas, there is a pleasant surprise. There are green trees and beautiful green folage. Texas can be green!
The Hills Are Green
The hills resound with the music of a watered desert. What a beautiful winter drive. As a long drive ends, we prepare to find us a spot for the night, our home away from home. It is here that I hang my hat! The day has been long, but fun. It is time for a hot steeming bath and a good book. There is always time for a hot cup of tea and a good book.
Enjoy life away from the homestead,
