Arizona Adventures

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

Were on the road again and this time we are exploring the deserts of Arizona.  While things on the homestead have slowed down a little, it is time for a little traveling. As we travel through the State of Arizona we stop to admire the many types of Catus. The interesting mountains and rocks are facinating. We even find small pieces of petrified wood and interesting rocks and gems. The Quartzsite area is an amazing desert of treasure.  Pictured is a unique shop with many desert specialities to sort through. What fun!

The saguaro Catus (Carnegiea Gigantea)  is a major catus found in the deserts of Arizona. I especialy love them in the spring when they are in full bloom. They have beautiful white flowers that are followed by a bright red fruit. The desert is full of color.

The Saguaro Catus is the largest catus in any United States desert. They grow very slowly though. A ten year old plant might only be one and a half inches tall. Many of the Saguaros  live to be 200 years old and may be as tall as 40 feet. Notice how tall this catus is compared to someone 5 feet 3 inches. This is the king of the desert.

Notice the different shapes and colors of the desert. The desert has a very unique beauty. As you shift through the sage brush, you may find rocks, gems, and maybe even an arrowhead. A day in the desert is like none other.

As the day comes to a close, we settle in our home away from the homestead. There is no fireplace here, not even an electric one, but there is always a good book. Tomorrow will be a new day of Adventure.

Can we have pics of Sedona please???

It was a really hot day and I didn't take many pictures. I was mostly captivated by the uniqueness of the desert.

I came over from amy-goodrich's post to see the tags but still see 5 tags here. To drop one tag, you have to Edit this post and pick one to sacrifice and delete that. Then, finally click [Update Post]. Review and make sure there should be only 4 tags. If doesn't see to work, then try to clear the cache in the browser and reload.

If I look at a resteem post from you:
